The UK is prepared to move forward with employing the full worth of seized Russia's funds to bolster the Ukrainian war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this unified step would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They added that the initiative would be carried out in strong partnership with the United States.

British restrictions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian resources since Russia initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, up to this point, funds sent to the Ukrainian government using Russian holdings had solely been drawn from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and Germany were united in their goal to advance efforts toward using the complete amount of the immobilized Moscow's national funds to conclude the conflict.

He added that further measures over the next period would increase the strain on Moscow.

This statement is subsequent to European Union representatives gathered in Copenhagen previously to consider using seized Russian holdings for a €140bn loan to the Ukrainian nation.

The value of immobilized Russian funds in the Europe is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Russia carried out extensive missile and drone strikes all over Ukraine on recently, leading to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the city, and eight other regions.

While praising the United Kingdom's strong support for Ukraine, he noted it should send a clear signal that it would engage in the system, as well as impose more sanctions on Moscow.
