Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is unclear and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have shot down missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
