Former Doctor Faces Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a former physician now faces charges for committing assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

The charging documents said the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
