Bills' Bay Day Gives Patriots Route to AFC East Lead - Best of Week 10 NFL Action

Week 10 again delivered, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many people into the NFL
That result could have created opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a major confrontation next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to address
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the beginning as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 winners in an surprising outcome - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third period and first points in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the NFL's top offences
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two touchdowns but running back Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Containing the league's best rushing attack was also key, with Cook and company registering just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins converted to seven points just later
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Josh Allen attempting to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - not the composed, disciplined, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year
Miami have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay next week as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East
In Focus - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the New England, they're one of three different 8-2 teams in the league, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the best?
One could pick holes in New England, Denver and Indianapolis really for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their total twenty-four wins coming against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Broncos
Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's victory in Tampa to their primtime win in Buffalo appears to be a declaration
Their pair of losses came in new head coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven straight victories, similar to the Broncos, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was significant
Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he definitely earns credit for bravery after taking some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his side to success
The defense is reliable and first-year running back Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to break 22mph this season on his initial touchdown
While you can argue who 'the best' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against the Bills
Visiting the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to play twice, the Chargers (who could also compete for first place but encounter the identical challenge) and also the Green Bay on the schedule
The Colts also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the five and four Jacksonville to contend with. There is a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is open for a shock top seed in the AFC
Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Next Week Clash
Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three different eight and two sides are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who each scored forty points to reach seven and two before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in Los Angeles
Both have won four in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a contest
Both could easily be without a loss as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the last kick blocked and run back by the Eagles for a touchdown
The Seahawks were also defeated to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly among the best sides in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Berlin - running for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding another forty-two {receiving yards
